I'm not sure where the time went but I've been back from maternity leave for a whole year now, meaning Max is 15 months old. Time to get back to the blog. This weekend we took a trip to Davis Farm for a tractor pulled hayride to the pumpkin patch along with our friends Matt, Candace and their baby, Ben.
Us on the hayride.
Sunday night was our turn to host our Sunday Night Football dinner rotation. I had baked some lasagnas and pulled them out of the oven just as the friends arrived. I then let them cool for about 15 minutes before cutting them. Max was playing near me with his Duplo table when I turned away to start cutting. I turned back after only a minute or so and found he had climbed up on to the Duplo table and was squatting on it. I ran over and pulled Max off with a stern "No climbing!" and of course he immediately climbed back up. So now we've got a climber!

A quick one
Not much time for a written post but here are lots of cute photos!
Here's Max sitting in his Bumbo chair (briefly and with supervision) while playing with the toys hanging from his play mat.
Max and Mama are enjoying quality time.
Mama's little monster is playing in the big bed.
This tiny foot was peaking out of the blanket covered car seat one day last week when Max fell asleep on our way home from grocery shopping.
Here is Max sporting one of the first onesies Mama bought. She gave this one to Daddy since loves Lebowski. We waited too long to put it on Max and now it's too short. We covered up the unsnapped portion of the too short onesie with pants for this photo.
Daddy and Max are hanging out and Daddy is laughing at Mama's funny jokes.
Crazy Max face!
Cute Max on the morning of Day Two,nap training. Proof that he wasn't scarred by Day One. Mama needs to see these smiles. Getting this little madman to sleep in his crib is almost impossible.
These are the colors for Max's baby blanket. Mama is finally knitting something for her baby. At first I didn't have the attention span to knit and then I couldn't choose what to knit. I settled on a Chevron striped baby blanket using Blue Sky Alpaca worsted cotton in the colors below. I'm making decent progress since it's knitted double stranded on size 11 needles. Stay tuned for a finished product.

Here's Max looking cute with a wrist rattle.
Max is snuggling with his monkey lovey in an outfit gifted to him by his Gigi's boss, Sharon.

Max loves to sleep against Mama. It's the best!

Cool baby stuff
Every since I found out I was pregnant I've been trolling the internet for cute baby decor, storage items, clothes, etc. Of course there is a ridiculous amount of adorable baby stuff out there and I can't have it all but I thought I'd share some of my finds.
Pearhead is a fun website with cute baby memorabilia and decor. I actually got this wooden bank at Baby's R Us before Max was born, not realizing how many other cute things Pearhead makes. They also have an adorable growth chart I'm eyeballing. I want to get a growth chart for Max's room by the time he's 6 months old and I want one that is canvas or cloth of some kind so we can take it with us if we move. This cute blue one fits the bill and is definitely in the running. I don't know why, but I've discovered I'm obsessed with giraffes when it comes to Max and his stuff. I counted all of this giraffe paraphernalia and I think the last count was at 9 giraffe stuffed animals (including this four foot tall giraffe courtesy of Gigi), toys and room decor items.

3 Sprouts has some adorable eco-friendly storage options like bins, caddies and wall organizers. I'm particularly digging this beaver caddy, this alligator wall organizer and this zebra storage bin.

Skip Hop has some great items for both parents and kids. Max has these fun bath ducks and we're already using them in his nightly baths. I also really like the back packs and insulated lunch bags, for when Max hits school age.

Crate and Barrel has a baby store called Land of Nod with lots of high end goodies. I really like these blankies by Angel Dear, although there is an even bigger selection of animals and colors on Angel Dear's website. I've been advised that having multiples of a lovie of this kind can be critical if baby develops a bedtime dependance.
I've also seen lots of cool stuff on Etsy. In fact, I'm jumping on the tissue paper pom pom bandwagon. I ordered a set of five from a nice lady in Portland in light blue, white and chocolate to hang in one corner of the nursery. Wait a minute, I've just realized I haven't posted any nursery pictures. All you've seen so far is a the painting pics that were lumped in with the floor renovations. Well, that will be remedied shortly, I can assure you. The main elements (crib, bookshelf, rug, dresser, glider, stuffed animals and alphabet wall art) were in place before Max's birth but since thenI've been adding more details to really tie the room together. I'll post the original pics from when my parents came down to help us get everything assembled (we have been photographing almost everything, even if I can't find the time to share) and some new photos with the more recent elements and additions.
