2 month update

Yesterday Max was two months old!

Max and I have been having lots of fun together during the days while Jason is at work.  Max is napping in the morning and the afternoon for a few hours at a time, mostly in his swing.  I can't seem to get him to nap in a crib or bassinet yet, but we're going to work on it in preparation for daycare in a month.

Last week was a big week for Max.  My mom came down to stay Wed-Fri so, with an extra set of hands, we took some longer outings.  On Wed. we went up to the Woodburn Outlet stores to pick up a few things and Max did pretty well.  He had some gas pains so he was fussy, requiring me to spend most of my time walking outside the stores and bouncing him but he settled well in the car on both the trip up and back.  On Thurs. we drove to Newport in an attempt to beat the heat in the valley.  We ate lunch at Mo's and then walked on the beach.  Max fell asleep in between Mo's and the beach so he stayed in the stroller while my mom and I strolled through the mist and fog, although the sun did peak out from behind the clouds as we were leaving.

On Friday my mom, Max and I drove up to Portland during the day and Max got to meet his Uncle Casey for the first time.  Jason drove up after work and we had our first overnight trip with Max.  On Saturday my brother and his fiancee Kayti were married in my parents back yard surrounded by her parents and brother, my mom and step dad, my dad and grandpa, and Jason, Max and me.  It was a really nice day.

Max got dressed up for the first Beaver football game of the season against Sacramento State.  He listened to a little of the game on the radio in between eating and naps.  He was sad the Beavs lost!

Max and Daddy like to hang out in the evenings when Daddy gets home from work while Mommy makes dinner.  My guys are looking good!

Max loves to cuddle against Mommy and snooze.

We also had a visit over Labor Day weekend from our friends Matt and Carrie.  Carrie was 33 weeks pregnant in this photo with Max's future wife.  Yes, we've betrothed out children!

This week Max and I have been sticking close to home, with a visit from our friend Jen and her two boys, Dane (age 2) and Luke (age 16 weeks).  Jen has been a great resource for parenting advice and reality checks!

I'll leave you with a really cute photo of Max.  I think it might be one of my favorites, he looks so happy and grown up.
